GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas – Ascend Distribution LLC has more than doubled the size of its footprint in the Great Southwest Industrial District, gaining a second location and 15,000 sf to meet demand from Amazon and Walmart Inc. marketplace stores.
The distributor has snapped up the extra warehouse space at 941 Avenue N in Grand Prairie, which is less than one mile away from its existing fulfillment center. Jason Finch, first vice president of Dallas-based Bradford Commercial Real Estate Services, and Michael W. Spain, executive vice president and managing partner, represented the tenant.
Ascend Distribution's 15,000-sf expansion comes roughly eight months after it leased 11,595 sf in the Great Southwest Industrial submarket. The company's second location is now up and running following a moderate renovation to the dock area in the multi-tenant building. Maddy Canty of Holt Lunsford Commercial represented the landlord, Dallas MLM TT LLC.
"Ascend outgrew the original site much quicker than we anticipated," Finch says. "This was the closest available space, which was important because employees will need to go between both locations."
Ascend Distribution, an affiliate of a California-based company, buys, packages and ships inventory to 150 Amazon and Walmart warehouses throughout the U.S. Products include toys, collectibles, homewares, electronics, sporting/outdoor goods and apparel.
"It's a growing company," Finch says, "and it's possible more space will be needed down the road."
