Fall Is The Time To Finalize

Proper fall temperatures have finally descended upon Dallas/ Ft Worth and I couldn't be happier. Despite our well deserved reputation for sweltering summers, the D/FW area can produce some incredible weather. Now's the time to get outside and enjoy it before the weather turns chilly. Speaking of good timing, many in the industry refer to this time of the year as "deal-making" season. While I dislike the term "deal" I do concur that this is the time to focus on your real estate transactions. Transactions tend to stall in the summer as decision makers vacation with family and friends. But once kids are back in school, there's a renewed focus on tying up the loose ends. Its important to try and seek resolution to any ongoing transaction before the week of Thanksgiving, if possible. Any transaction lingering after Turkey Day is in danger of getting lost in the holiday shuffle and being postponed until the new year. For clarification, I am not suggesting you accelerate your transactions based upon a holiday schedule. Any Dallas commercial real estate transaction should be completed upon proper acceptance and understanding of the terms by all parties. Period. This is simply a reminder to those who need transactions to close before years end. It's tough to compete with Santa and the New Years Baby.
