DALLAS Tripling the size of its footprint, J.B. Hunt Transport Services Inc. will relocate in November to Northpointe Trade Center on the outskirts of Austin, inking a long-term lease facilitated by Bradford Commercial Real Estate Services.
"J.B. Hunt really needed to expand. They're only in about 10,000 sf in that market," says Brock Wilson, senior vice president and managing partner of Dallas-based Bradford Commercial Real Estate Services.
J.B. Hunt's new 32,594-sf site at 2251 Picadilly Dr. in Pflugerville is north of Austin proper and its present location, but the upside is the LEED-certified Northpointe Trade Center offers trailer storage. The Fortune 500 trucking company maintains a fleet of nearly 3,000 tractors and 54,000 pieces of trailing equipment at locations nationwide, including all four metropolitan cities in Texas.
"It's not like Dallas. It's not common to have trailer storage in the Austin market so this was a bonus," Wilson emphasizes.
