Every day we are reminded about taking care of our planet that we call home. Trees contribute to cleaner air, cleaner water, cooler temperatures, and offer many more good things to our community. Earth Day is the occasion to teach ourselves and our children about the environment and the importance of taking care of our home.
On Earth Day, April 22, 2019, Uplift Wisdom Warrior Cheerleaders joined Bradford Companies in planting a tree outside Bradford’s corporate headquarters located at Citymark on the Katy Trail. Thank you to Angela’s Café for providing the students transportation to Bradford Companies. Uplift Wisdom Preparatory is a free, public, college-preparatory charter school located in south Dallas. It was established in 2016 as part of the Uplift Education network, the largest charter school network in North Texas.
Planting a tree represents putting down roots and future growth. It connects you to the earth. Trees represent resilience, as a tree bends in a storm just as we weather the daily struggles of life. Bradford donated $1,000 to Uplift Wisdom Preparatory to help grow the Warrior Cheerleading program. After planting the tree, Bradford treated the cheerleaders to lunch at the Katy Trail Icehouse.
Everyone can make a difference. Get involved. Plant a tree, pick up trash, ride your bicycle and educate our children over the importance of preserving our planet. Happy Earth Day!
