DALLAS – Wooden Camera Inc., a division of London-based Vitec Group, has nearly doubled the size of its headquarters office and support space, signing a long-term lease for 14,144 sf in Northgate II in northeast Dallas.
Wooden Camera has settled into ready-to-occupy flex space at 10460 Miller Rd., Dallas, setting up shop in a newer project on the other side of the metroplex from its 11-year home in Oak Cliff. The company assembles and distributes high-end cameras and accessories, selling online and at its only U.S. storefront in Los Angeles.
"The challenge was finding a location with ample parking to accommodate our client's needs for office, assembly and distribution space," says Leigh Richter, executive vice president of Bradford Commercial Real Estate Services. She and her husband, Paul Richter, vice president, represented Wooden Camera.
The company's new location features a 5,925-sf office and 8,219 sf of production space for assembly and distribution, including three grade-level doors. Adam Jones and Ryan Wolcott of Stream Realty Partners represented the landlord, 10440-10460 Miller Rd. LLC.
"Wooden Camera needed a high parking ratio more so than visibility. It's also much closer to everyone's homes and easily accessible to Interstate 635," adds the Bradford EVP.
The 54-employee company was founded in 2011 by Ryan and Elizabeth Schorman of Dallas. It was acquired in 2016 by Vitec Group, which is listed on the London Stock Exchange. The parent firm is a global provider of premium-branded hardware products and software solutions, with roughly 2,000 employees in 11 countries in three divisions geared toward broadcast and film studios, photography, gaming and independent content creation.
"Anyone looking for high-end specialty cameras and accessories knows this company," Leigh Richter says. "It's a niche market."
